Clarens Client and Server Applications

چکیده
The Clarens web services platform, described in a companion article, [15] acts as a go-between for distributed clients on the wide area network to access services using the widely XML-RPC and SOAP data serialization standards on top of the lower-level HTTP protocol. Its usefulness must ultimately be measured by the usefulness of the services and clients themselves. This paper is divided into two parts describing the currently implemented services as well as clients taking advantage of these services.

The Clarens web services architecture
Clarens is a Grid-enabled web service infrastructure implemented to augment the current batch-oriented Grid services computing model in the Compound Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment of the LHC. Clarens servers leverage the Apache web server to provided a scalable framework for clients to communicate with services using the SOAP and XML-RPC protocols. This framework provides security, session pers...
متن کاملThe Clarens Grid-enabled Web Services Framework: Services and Implementation
This paper describes progress made in the development of the Clarens Web Services Framework, including a second Java-based server implementation, improved performance, a global lookup and discovery service leveraging of the MonALISA monitoring system, and adapting the framework to a secure message-based transport protocol.
متن کاملJobMon: A Secure, Scalable, Interactive Grid Job Monitor
We present the architecture and implementation of an interactive system for monitoring long-running jobs on large computational clusters. JobMon comprises an asynchronous intra-cluster communication server and a Clarens web service on a head node, coupled with a job wrapper for each monitored job to provide monitoring information both periodically and upon request. The Clarens web service provi...
متن کاملA CSA Method for Assigning Client to Servers in Online Social Networks
This paper deals with the problem of user-server assignment in online social network systems. Online social network applications such as Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram are built on an infrastructure of servers that enables them to communicate with each other. A key factor that determines the facility of communication between the users and the servers is the Expected Transmission Time (ETT). A ...
متن کاملCMS Data Analysis: Current Status and Future Strategy
We present the current status of CMS data analysis architecture and describe work on future Grid-based distributed analysis prototypes. CMS has two main software frameworks related to data analysis: COBRA, the main framework, and IGUANA, the interactive visualisation framework. Software using these frameworks is used today in the world-wide production and analysis of CMS data. We describe their...
